Camping by the lake

On hot summer days, after extensive hikes or wonderful excursions to the city, there is nothing better than enjoying a bath and relaxing in the sun. In South Tyrol, there are numerous opportunities to go camping by the lake, as the regions has numerous mild bathing lakes, artificial lakes or frozen glacier lakes.

Among the most beautiful, largest and most renowned lakes in South Tyrol, there is Lake Kaltern in the south, the warmest bathing lake in the Alps.

Other recommended destinations for camping holidays at the lake are the lakes of Montiggl, Lake Fennberg and Lake Wolfsgruben – all of them located in the holiday region of Bozen and environs, the picturesque mountain lakes of Antholz, Prags and Toblach or the artificial Lake Reschen, with the famous church tower emerging from its water. However, camping holidays are not only possible in summer. How about a romantic autumn walk around the lake, a springtime picnic at the lakeshore or ice skating on the ice?
